Eva Lluberes came to Lawrence MA from New York with her three sons, the summer of 2002, with a lot of enthusiasm and many dreams. She graduated from high school in Puerto Rico, where she was born. In 2004, Eva began her studies at Cambridge College in Education, with plans to continue her studies in Social Services next. Her volunteer experience began with the Arlington School in Lawrence, serving as the president of the PTA. She met a wonderful person, Marta Rentas in October 2003, who introduced her to Lawrence CommunityWorks. She came to LCW with over 20 years of community and education working experience. Eva provided counseling to children and youth, worked on voter registration, and on increasing civic participation. Eva demonstrates a passion and commitment to empowering the Lawrence community. As an LCW member, she volunteered on the Budget campaign and she graduated from the PODER Leadership Institute, class of 2006. Next, she took a fellowship position for a year with the Network Organizing Department. At the same time, she was enrolled in the Individual Development Account Program (IDA). In 2008 she also became a member of the Family Asset Building Committee. At the present she continues using her leadership skills as a volunteer of the YES WE WILL campaign, leading Lawrence residents to increased civic participation, and registering voters. Currently, she is participates as an intern with the new and exciting NOF INTERNSHIP PROGRAM.
